I found a post on the Zorin OS forum that mentions some good practices if you want to get VST plugins working. Haven’t tried it yet, but I recognize some of the steps I took in the past that worked well, like yabridge. What’s nice is that that post also mentions tips to ensure things keep working after updates, which is where things went sour for me last time I tried updating EZ Drummer VSTs on Ubuntu. It doesn’t mention Toontrack specifically, but it does mention other tools that I know are similary hard to set up on Linux. https://forum.zorin.com/t/music-audio-production-in-linux-how-to-integrate-your-windows-based-plugins-vst2-vst3-clap/38314

  • Tone matching to a reference track – I’d like to be able to import either individual drum tracks (snare, kick, hi tom, etc) or an entire stereo drum mix and have SD analyze it and then find for me kit pieces from any available TT library that most closely matches the tone. Then I’d like to have the option to match that sound nearly exactly with applied eq and compression. This could all be done in the cloud so that it’s able to reference every single TT drum in existence when trying to find the closest match. This is would also be a great way to sell more SDX’s because if the closest matches are in a kit I don’t own, I may be more inclined to buy it.
  • I’d also love if it were possible to manipulate the DAW hosts playback marker when using the Grid editor. As it stands I find it very tedious to have to constantly move my attention from the Drum Editor back to the host each time I want to change the playback point in the timeline when I’m editing drums. It feels very disconnected and so I won’t even use the Drum Editor because of this. May not be possible for each DAW but one can hope! (Pro Tools :fingers crossed:)

Has anyone tried to use Zorin Pro? Is it possible that some of the “drag drop” / video issues are because of the non proprietary video card drivers in most basic linux distro’s. Anyway, that’s off my chest. Like many of you my main workstation is being scheduled for planned obsolescence as well despite being more than powerful enough to run microcrap 11 fold. If anyone gives Zorin a run, please post it. I am planning on it, but don’t know how long before I can, but there will be no wincrap 11 on this machine. Have a good one!

  • New colors. I find EZD3 colors more appealing
  • Bring the humanize function from EZD3 to Superior Drummer. When I write my drum tracks in notation, I bring them to EZ first and humanize, export and import to SD.
  • You should be able to select any room you want (from the SDX, EZX you have)

Did you buy EZmix expansion packs? If you purchased an expansion pack, you need the full product for them to work. For example, EZMix expansion packs require EZmix3.

I have recently installed the Metal Gods Pack  ( 1,2 and 3) on my laptop and I’m using reaper as a DAW, however when adding a new track and clicking on the FX button I’m unable to see the plug ins.

I have tried to look out for the dlll files but was unable to find it to add it to the VST path plug in.

Can you please assist?

Thanks

Florian

I’m following up on this thread.

Could you let us know if you are working on something for modern Worship?

Or if you’re not/not planning to in the near future, then at least we know so we can put it to bed.

Would still be amazing though if you are planning to do it 😜

They do read and make note of requests and are well aware of the desire for it.
